[ there's a pause. jade seems like she's ready to let out all the gory details, in 4k hd; maybe she's been holding in a lot more than people can guess. after all, showing any kind of weakness might be the wrong thing to do.

and there's no answer, just blank silence. not even a hint of emotion, not a sense of being caught off guard. everything gets cut off, because jade thinks about it and wonders if it makes her useless if she's still here. ]

They are testing our bodies, yes. Trying to figure out how to activate our magic, I think... There has been a lot of blood taking and injections and things like that. A couple of injuries have been my fault, so it really could be worse.

[That's not as bad as it could be, at least. Unpleasant, but not outright torture. Still, they need to move more quickly.]

And no, I mean, they are covering up spots they've been sticking me with needles, I guess... It seems like it depends on the person doing it, so I guess it is not protocol or. Whatever they call it.

Umm, mostly burns from the heat. They have not left me in there long enough for frostbite to set in but it did seem like it would get close. I have a chipped tooth, too.

[ ... she's considering biting someone and trying to get it knocked out at this point. ]

Understood. I can tell you how to treat burns, if you don't know, but I'll talk to Jude about frostbite. Hang in there. Try to lay low if you can.

Riza and Ruby... I didn't know them beforehand but I spoke to that horse guy about Riza. And I guess Ruby has a sister out there still! If you see here, can you let her know I am watching her? So she won't worry.

Jade, I'm saying this because we need you to be in good condition when we come in to rescue you. If you get hurt, that makes it harder for us to get you out.

They will not do anything to us that makes us less valuable to them.

[ broken bones are unlikely, at least. ]

But you guys have to get out if it looks like it will end with you stuck here, too. It is pointless for you to get caught as well.

She did seem timid.

[ there's a telepathic equivalent of a head nod. yeah, if you don't talk to ruby in a specific tone, she tears up. which is...understandable in this situation, but it means jade's on edge, trying to keep things together as much as possible. ]

Her sister is as old as me, but if you want a name I can ask. Ummm. Petting my ears seems to help calm her down, so I guess I can use that to keep her from getting upset.

Only if you think it wouldn't upset her. I was just going to see if I could check in on the sister.

[ there's a pause, here, without much warning. it takes a few moments before she comes back. unfortunately, this is just jade being jade. ]
